A Zimbabwean man was killed by four armed robbers in South Africa last Friday after he was found being intimate with a prostitute in a bushy area.

This comes as another Zimbabwean was arrested for allegedly peddling illicit drugs in that country.

According to media reports, Edwin Tshuma of Midrand died after being stabbed by four robbers in Boksburg in Gauteng’s East Rand area after his assailants caught him having sex with a prostitute.

Boksburg police spokesperson Kwendzakwakhe Ngobese, said Tshuma parked his car at a shopping centre and went to the nearby bush with a prostitute he had paid R10.

“After a steamy romp, four men confronted Tshuma in the bushes before stabbing him multiple times and stealing his valuable belongings,” Ngobese said.

He said police received information from a member of the public and rushed to the scene.

“The victim suffered several wounds and was certified dead on the scene,” Ngobese said.

Three of the suspected killers, aged 20, 28 and 29, were arrested over the weekend and are likely to be charged with murder and robbery.

Meanwhile, the Cape Town Cluster Crime Prevention Unit members arrested a 38-year-old Zimbabwean man last Friday on allegations of dealing in mbanje at Cape Town African Women’s Market Square along Long Street.

The Cape Town Cluster Crime prevention members received information from members of the public and immediately reacted and raided the man’s shop.

According to SAPS, during their search of the premises they found 22 packets of “outdoor dagga” and 15 small packets of indoor dagga and three packets of dagga seeds and 4 000 rand.

The suspect was arrested and taken to Cape Town Central Police Station.
