THE Zimbabwe Trips team started the Quadrangular Bowling Series on a good note after defeating hosts Namibia 25-12 at the Windhoek Country Club yesterday.

Zimbabwe was represented by Tom Craven, Clive Robertson and Terry Bowes as they gave the hosts a tough time on their home green.

While the Trips started the competition on a winning note, the Pairs team, represented by Denis Streak and Jono Evans, found the going tough when they lost 14-19 to Namibia.

Namibia went on to defeat South Africa 21-15. South Africa’s Junior side had a good start when they defeated their senior side 19-16.

In the Trips, South Africa defeated their Junior team 18 -15 and Zimbabwe beat Namibia 19-14.

Zimbabwe’s Fours team took control of the women’s section when they defeated Namibia 19-12 while South Africa Junior side beat their senior side 22-12.

The Zimbabwe Fours team had Kerry Craven, Ally Dale, Heather Singleton and Silva Kendal-Ball.

Namibian Fours peeled 19-19 against South Africa senior team.

In the Singles, Zimbabwe’s Jane Rigby lost by two shots, 19-21, against the Namibian singles representative.

Kerry Craven, who is the skip of the Zimbabwe team, said it was a good but tough day.

“We had a good day, we played well in our first match of the day against Namibia, it was competitive and I am glad we won,” said Craven.
