Zimbabwe Business and Arts Hub (Zibah), a local media and arts development player, says it is engaging various Government departments to create space and opportunities for the growth of the country’s creative industry. The organisation which recently marked its first anniversary this month launched Zibah nights to create a platform for local talents to showcase their abilities and reach out to a wider audience.

“In celebrating our first anniversary, we felt compelled to launch the Zibah nights to help promote local talent,” said Simbarashe Mahenga of Zibah. “We have a lot of talented people in the country that are not being given a platform to showcase their potential. We felt the need to help them out with this opportunity.”

Venues for Zibah nights will be held in various parts of the country to give a everyone a chance to participate. “The Zibah nights will rotate around venues owned by Zibah members among them Club Vicious, Club Joy Center and Wheel and Ease Sports Bar,” said Mahenga.

The first edition of Zibah nights which was held at Wheel and Ease (Wezhaz) Bar in Warren Park early this month was a huge success with great performances from Remias Tafireyi Moyondizvo, Mbeu & The Mhodzi Tribe Band and Potipher Mopo.

Zibah aims to promote excellence and productivity in the business, media and arts industry. “It has been an exciting one year with many highlights in the business and arts. We are still growing and we thank God for that,” Mahenga said. Zibah has also held a number of business breakfast meetings, seminars and arts indabas to promote excellence while reaching out to the less privileged.
