Zora musician Leonard Zhakata has been added to the “Sendekera Concert” that takes place at Odyssey Hotel in Kadoma tomorrow. The concert will have South Africa’s Mafikizolo as the main act and it also features local acts Jah Prayzah, Oliver Mtukudzi, Tendai Dembo and Diana Samkange.

Organisers of the event 2Kings Entertainment said they will fuse various genres at the concert to give it variety. The concert has been dubbed ‘Sendekera’ after the duet that Jah Prayzah did with Mafikizolo and it is a continuation of the Harare show that was held under the same banner and was highly successful. Zhakata said he is happy to be part of the ‘Sendekera Concert’ and he will bring his share of the cake for the audience.

“This is a cake with many ingredients and I am taking my Zora music to the people of Kadoma. There will be many other genres, but I will make sure that Zora – which is a part of sungura – will be well represented,” said Zhakata. We will do our best to ensure that fans get the best of entertainment. We have performed at many high profile events and we are prepared for the big day in Kadoma. We are always on top of our game and we will not disappoint.”

Dee Nosh of 2Kings Entertainment said people in Kadoma and surrounding places have been asking about the show and tickets are selling fast.

“Kadoma is ready for the gig. This is 2Kings Entertainment’s hometown and most people are happy to have such a big show coming to a small town. It is a time to celebrate and we know people will travel from many parts of the country for the show,” said Dee Nosh.

“Fans from Chegutu, Chinhoyi, Kwekwe and Gweru among other areas have called saying they are coming for the show. We know many other people will come from Harare and we have done the groundwork to ensure that everyone who comes will have a memorable occasion.”

Mafikizolo is known for staging exciting acts when they visit Zimbabwe and many people should be looking forward to the show. A number of fans from Harare have promised to travel for the show and it is set to be a historic event.
