Zanu-PF provincial structures are ready for today’s co-ordinating committee meetings countrywide where they are expected to plan the itinerary for Politburo-led verification teams to be deployed from next week. The revolutionary party has resolved to conduct an audit of its structures from cell to village levels and, Politburo members will spearhead the process.

The teams are expected to submit their reports to the commissariat department led by national political commissar, Cde Saviour Kasukuwere.

Provincial leaders who spoke to The Herald yesterday, said it was all systems go as they were ready to meet the Politburo-led team leaders.

Mashonaland Central chairperson, Cde Dickson Mafios, said they were ready to welcome Cde Kembo Mohadi, the leader of the verification team in the province.

“The province is done with sorting the structures so we are ready for the verification exercise,” he said.

“We will be meeting Cde Mohadi tomorrow (today) as the PCC. All the people who are supposed to attend are aware of the meeting. We are going to be planning the programme for the verification team.”

Mashonaland East acting provincial chairperson, Cde Aeneas Chigwedere, said they were ready to meet Cde Edna Madzongwe.

“We have no choice but to be ready because this is a task that has to be carried out. We were told the verification team is coming so they will be telling us what they want, while we tell them what to expect on the ground,” said Cde Chigwedere.

Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi, who is the Zanu-PF interim chairperson for Mashonaland West, said they were working flat out to ensure party members were registered as voters.

“We are ready for the team because everything is in place. Our cells are in order but we want to make sure that every party member in the cells is also registered as a voter.

“We are going to use the voters’ roll to check that because if one is in the cell but not registered as a voter then they are useless to us.

“So, after the verification team is done, we will continue checking our cells. Tomorrow, we will be arranging how verification teams will be deployed,” said Cde Ziyambi.

Masvingo acting chairperson, Cde Paradzai Chakona, said the provincial executive met yesterday ahead of today’s PCC meeting.

“As Masvingo province, we are done with inspecting cells except Masvingo South where we are yet to go. But we are ready for the verification exercise. So, tomorrow we will be arranging the programme and getting to know how big the team is,” said Cde Chakona.

His Matabeleland North counterpart, Cde Richard Moyo, said of his province: “We have told all the people including war veterans and ex-detainees about tomorrow’s meeting. We are ready for their arrival.”

The verification teams will be expected to physically check on the existence of existing structures and to physically count cell members with identification documents.
