Six zanu-pf members in Chitungwiza who allegedly stormed a Seventh Day Adventist Church destroying a 95-metre long precast wall valued at $3 000 claiming the stand belonged to them, yesterday appeared in court.

Easter Tarugarira (60) of Unit G who is jointly charged with Brighton Garura (33), Brechnev Mushawatu (35), Berinadate Square (32), George Mutikani (34) and Taonezvi Maturure (60) all of Chitungwiza allegedly razed down the wall using picks and hammers.

Chitungwiza magistrate Ms Jessy Kufa remanded them out of custody to December 15 for trial.

The prosecutor Mr Edmond Ndambakuwa told the court that on May 26 this year and at around 12pm, the six went to stand number 33531 Unit G next to Seke Teachers College in the same location. They entered into the premises, enclosed by a security wall without the approval of the church owners.

While inside, the team started to destroy the wall claiming that the land belonged to them and were given a go-ahead by one Elias Hamandishe. It is further alleged that the six claimed that Hamandishe had given them the land.
