Zanu-PF national political commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere has called on party supporters in Harare province to desist from in-fighting and concentrate on building the party.

Addressing hundreds of supporters attending a meeting held at the party headquarters yesterday, Cde Kasukuwere called on the Harare leadership to engage communities from the grassroots.

“Let us concentrate on building the party instead of advancing personalities,” he said.

“Let us come up with strategies that strengthen the party so that we become the leading party in Zimbabwe.

“Starting this Tuesday, we want people to get down to business moving from door to door, engaging people. The party should respond to the aspirations of the people.”

Cde Kasukuwere said the party’s Harare leaders were fast losing discipline and respect for each other as evidenced by petitions and vote of no confidence constantly passed on each other.

“This should come to an end,” he said. “We want to concentrate on building and strengthening the party.”

Cde Kasukuwere, who is also the Minister of Local Government, Public Works and National Housing, warned land barons selling open spaces for residential stands to unsuspecting people in the name of Zanu-PF.

“People are bringing the name of the party into disrepute by pegging stands at open spaces for unsuspecting people,” he said. “This should all stop.

“If you want to start your co-operative, you must follow the right procedures of applying for land and that land is serviced before allocating stands.”

Minister Kasukuwere said some party members in Harare province were not respecting the party’s communication procedures as they write letters direct to the President or his deputies.

“Communication should go through the right party channels instead of writing letters direct to HE,” he said.

Cde Kasukuwere said anyone who will be caught putting the name of the party into disrepute will be dismissed.
