Utakataka Express band is expected to serenade music lovers at a gig scheduled for Chitubu in Glen Norah tomorrow. Fronted by Peter “Young Igwee” Moyo, the band which comprise youthful performers among them chanter, Yamathele, bassist Spencer Khumulani and popular dancer Great Njanji aka Officer will be at it again.

Officer who has been down after he suffered a mild stroke returned to stage with a bang. The nimble footed dancer has a huge stage presence which endears well to the fans.

Despite his weaknesses with regards to his love life, the Young Igwee is able to hold his own playing his own compositions and some of the hits by his late father – Tongai Moyo.

Only last week, the group shared the stage with Zora king Leonard Zhakata where they put up a good show despite a low turnout.

If anything, the group is now intact than ever before and Young Igwee is in control unlike during his formative years since taking over the reins of the band.

This weekend, the Utakataka Express which has been getting better with each outing will do their best to thrill the young and old at one of the popular hangouts in the suburb.

So when the group hits the stage at Chitubu expect nothing short of fireworks as Young Igwee and his group go through their paces just the way fans like it.

Currently, he is working on a new DVD for his debut album “Maushonga Mukuru” that will feature songs such as “Mira Newako”,

“Konzi”, “Pasirino”, and “Tutsotso” and the other two from his late father Tongai, “Ndiro Yababa” and “Tsamba Ndakanyora”.

Show organisers promised to deliver secure parking as well as top notch service.

“This is not our first time to organise a big show so there is going to be tight security, full bar and catering,” a spokesperson said.
