Sungura musician Peter Moyo returns to Glen Norah this weekend when he performs at The Palace on Sunday. He will share the stage with Extra Kwazvose that is trying to find its footing after being shaken by a recent split.

Moyo, who is basking in glory after successfully launching his debut DVD for “Mushonga Mukuru”, promised a memorable family show.

Young Igwe, as Peter is popularly known, managed to bring back his outfit Utakataka Express on its feet after a split setback and says the show will give him a chance to present the new-look outfit in Glen Norah.

The musician’s manager Sukol Dube said they were looking forward to a great show as people were enjoying their DVD.

“The response is overwhelming with a number of people coming to our shows supporting us,” he said.

He said things are taking shape in their band as most of the band members are back.

“The response has been overwhelming since the coming back of these guys (who had deserted the group) and for this show we are expecting the best,” he said.

Young Igwe is able to hold his own, playing his own compositions and some of the hits by his late father, Tongai Moyo.

On the DVD in one of the songs he managed to trace back the last days of his father Tongai.

The Palace Bar proprietor Simbarashe Chiweshe said they are honoured to host Moyo and his group at his joint.

“He is doing well in showbiz and his group is powerful. We are inviting people to come and have fun with the musician.

“We have put in place a good programme for the whole night and we promise the best to please our fans,” said Chiweshe.
