Marondera on Saturday came alive as musicians Peter Moyo and jazz outfit Too Open performed at Legends Bar. The show, which was well attended, saw Too Open warming the stage for the Young Igwe who managed to keep the tempo high. Songs from his album “Mushonga Mukuru” and his late father’s hits kept fans on their toes.

The musician announced to the public that they will be launching their DVD for “Mushonga Mukuru” on November 20 at Private Launch in the capital.

“We failed to meet the target at Dhewa Commemorations but the date is now set, we will be launching it on November 20 at Private Launch in Harare,” he said, much to the delight of the fans. The musician said they have finished working on the DVD.

“I have the master copy with me and people must look forward to another interesting project from Utakataka Express,” he said.

The DVD will feature songs “Mira Newako”, “Konzi”, “Pasirino” and “Tutsotso” and the other two from his late father Tongai, “Ndiro Yababa” and “Tsamba Ndakanyora”, which have proved popular. Owner of the venue Daniel Masaiti said he was impressed by the performance of the two groups.

“They were here on time and they performed well. We want to encourage him to keep that spirit,” he said.

Fans who came to the event hailed the promoter for his efforts to keep good standards at his venue.
