As most sungura musicians promise to release albums this year with some having announced their launch dates, Peter Moyo has joined the race by hinting he is also preparing a new release and will disclose its unveiling date soon. The Kwekwe-based musician has two albums to his name “Mushonga Mukuru” and “Mabasa aMwari” and he says he will not starve his fans of new material. The musician said they are rehearsing new songs and will be sampling more upcoming tracks at their show at Tanza Centre in Chitungwiza tonight.

“We do not stop composing songs. There are some songs that we have not recorded, but the compositions are already done. Some of the songs were supposed to be on previous albums and some of them are new tracks that we are preparing for the upcoming album,” said Moyo, who is popularly known as Young Igwe.

“We will unveil more of the new songs this Friday (tonight) at our show at Tanza Centre. We have made that show a special event for our fans in Chitungwiza and we will give them a taste of what we are brewing for them.”

He said he will announce the date for the release of the album soon.

“Many artistes have announced dates for their albums. We are not competing with anyone, but we want to keep dishing out new things to our fans. It also helps me grow as a musician, so we will definitely have our new album on the market according to our schedule.”

An official at Tanza Centre said the indoor show would be an ideal event for Young Igwe to present his special gig for Chitungwiza fans.

He said they would complement the musician’s effort to give his fans a special treat by maintaining their normal prices for all beverages during the show.
