Peter MOYO and Romeo Gasa will perform back-to-back at Zimunhu Bar in Epworth’s Overspill this Saturday in a potentially explosive gig by the two youngsters.
The two have become bossom buddies on and off the stage. Their collaboration on Moyo’s “Mushonga Mukuru” bears testimony to their chemistry.

At 24, Peter or Young Igwe to his adoring fans, released his first album titled “Mushonga Mukuru” aimed at silencing his critics who thought he was too green to keep his father’s legacy alive.

From time to time he would perform mostly songs from his father’s long playlist but since the release of his debut album things have changed for the better.

Since taking over the reins at Utakataka Express, the Young Igwe has proved to all and sundry that he is the heir to the throne.
Already, the new album has received rave reviews from his fans with such hits as “Konzi”, “Tutsotso”, “Pasirino”, “Barika”
and “Mwari Wenyasha” being crowd favourites at live shows.

Obviously not a newcomer at Zimunhu Bar, the Young Igwe has held sold out shows at the venue and this time he has high hopes of drawing huge crowds with the help of Gasa.

That said, Gasa is another young musician who is doing well on the music scene. The youthful but talented musician is expected to serenade fans with his high-energy performance from his three albums, namely “Sungura Kompressor”, “Mufaro Kwamuri” and “Simbi Hombe”.
Currently in the studio recording his fourth album, the diminutive Gasa has been constantly churning out album after album showing his resilience to take his music to greater heights.

Buoyed by the success of his latest album “Simbi Hombe” which made some impact on the airwaves, Gasa is known for delivering his best in music and dance.

Since the release of the album, music promoters have been jostling for the young musician’s signature.
However, some of his fans have not had a chance to sample the album and, according to Gasa, this is the right time for him to take his music to the people.

It can be argued “Simbi Hombe” is his third album inspired by sungura maestro, Alick “Extrabasso” Macheso and the late Tongai Moyo.
A product of Chibuku Road to Fame talent search show, after he came first with his group, Extra Valembe in 2007, Gasa went on to win the Mathias Bangure-run Music Crossroads finals.

His latest offering carries six tracks, namely “Sarura Wako”, “Nherera Nyarara”, “Nguva”, “Mukoma Kosie”, “Ndaremerwa” and “Mwari Wedenga”.

Show promoter Luckson Zimunhu was excited about the gig saying Epworth fans await the youngsters.
“There is so much excitement surrounding the gig since it is his first time that Peter and Gasa clash in Epworth.

“Peter commands a huge following and now sharing the stage with Gasa is amazing. We urge people to come in their numbers. There is lots in store including full bar and catering for revellers,” he said.
