during trials last week.

The winger comes from a strong football family with his brother Abbas playing for Absa Premiership side Black Leopards whilst his father Husein is a also a former soccer star.

Amazulu coach Craig Rosslee and his assistant Wilfred Mugeyi are convinced that the player, who turns 17 next Tuesday, is one for the future and gave him a two-year contract.

Brett has been training with Dynamos since returning from a tour to Switzerland with Aces Youth Soccer Academy about a month ago.

But it appears the Glamour Boys were taking their time to decide on snapping the youthful player whom they wanted to give a five-year contract.

However, the midfielder, who has featured for the Young Warriors in the Under-17 age group, crossed the Limpopo and has found a new home at the Durban side.

Amazulu is home to the Zimbabwean trio of former Warriors captain Tapuwa Kapini, Carlington Nyadombo and Ramson Zhuwawo.

According to a source, who was involved in the deal, Amazulu coaches are trying to set up a structure like the one that is similar to their former club Ajax Cape Town of investing heavily in youthful players.

“Rosilee and Mugeyi are trying to establish a structure similar to Ajax Cape Town and they believe having a player like Brett and other young players at the club will steer the club in the right direction.

“They have just survived relegation and are already planning for the next season.

“The player was in Switzerland with his club Aces and when he returned home he began training with Dynamos who were offering a paltry fee for a five-year-deal and we felt we have to try other options.

“Fortunately for the young boy, he just trained for two days and they were impressed.
He will begin to play for the team when the new season begins in August and has signed for a two-year contract with an option to extend it with another year,” said the source.
