FORMER Dynamos coaches David Mandigora and Tonderai Ndiraya are tipped to make a return to the Glamour Boys in a new technical set-up if they pass interviews expected to be conducted at the Harare giants this week. DeMbare are hunting for a new technical team to fill the vacancy left by Callisto Pasuwa and his assistants when his contract expires at the end of the month.

Sources revealed that Mandigora, who led the side to the semi-finals of the Champions League in 2008, is in line for the job after expressing interest in the post.

Pasuwa’s former aide, Tonderai Ndiraya, and Biggie Zuze are some of the Dynamos sons that have been linked with the hot seat.

However, club secretary-general Webster Chikengezha yesterday said they have not yet started processing the applications.

Dynamos have a tradition of employing former players as coaches and Chikengezha yesterday indicated they were unlikely to depart from the trend.

“Obviously, they (Dynamos sons) have an upper hand over the others because they have the advantage of knowing the culture of the club.

“It’s important to maintain club culture because it contributes to the results. So it’s always our wish to have a Dynamos son at the helm.

“We have got quite capable Dynamos sons to lead this team, but it doesn’t mean that we will be restricted to former Dynamos players only.

“We are going to look at the qualifications and if we cannot find satisfactory credentials in our former players then we may have to consider others,” said Chikengezha.

DeMbare flighted an advert for the post last week after Pasuwa, who won a record four league championships in a row, indicated he would not be renewing his contract when it expires on December 31.

The deadline for the applications lapses today.

“Dynamos is a big club and we will not compromise on quality. The responses we got are very encouraging. Both local and international coaches have shown interest in this post and what we are looking to get is the best man for this job.

“So, we are hoping to have a shortlist by close of business on Monday (today) and then conduct the interviews during the week. Our target is to have a coach by Christmas,” said Chikengezha.
