Woman up for robbery

A 25-YEAR-OLD Harare woman reportedly ganged up with two men and robbed a taxi driver of his vehicle and valuables at knife point in Chitungwiza last week.Letwin Marambazvitsva and his alleged accomplices, Clive Mupfumira and Moses Makumire further stripped Knowledge Chishe.They knocked him down using a fire extinguisher, leaving him unconscious.Marambazvitsva, Mupfumira and Makumire reside at the same address in Overspill, Epworth.

Marambazvitsva yesterday appeared before magistrate Ms Bianca Makwande.She was advised to apply for bail at the High Court.The prosecutor Mr Peter Kachirika alleges that on September 20 at around 8pm, Chishe parked his vehicle at Mushure Nightclub in Chitungwiza waiting for passengers.

He was approached by the trio led by Murambazvitsva.They hired him and pretended as if they were going to Unit P in Seke.Makoni sat on the front seat while Murambazvitsva and Mupfumira sat at the back.

It is the State’s case that when they got to Unit P, Murambazvitsva suddenly took out a knife and ordered Chishe to stop the vehicle.She threatened to stab him if he did not comply with her orders, it is alleged.

Mupfumira took control of the vehicle and they forced Chishe to lie down at the back seat facing downwards.They drove to a service station and demanded money from Chishe for fuel, which they took by force.

After fuelling the vehicle, Mupfumira drove along Seke road towards Harare.They parked the vehicle after crossing Manyame bridge and ordered Chishe to surrender all his belongings.

They took his wallet, $110 and a mobile phone.The suspects then stripped Chishe.Makumire took a fire extinguisher and hit Chishe on the head.He fell unconscious.
