AN UNIDENTIFED woman was found dead in Graniteside and police are appealing to people missing relatives to visit Harare Central Hospital mortuary. The women is believed to be in her 40s.

Police spokesperson Senior Assistant Commissioner Charity Charamba confirmed the death on Friday.

“On August 15 a woman aged approximately 40 years was found dead near a bus stop at an open space adjacent to Coca-Coca Company along Seke Road,” she said.

“The woman did not have any injuries on her body and had no identification particulars on her person. Police are appealing to members of the public who are missing a relative to proceed to Harare Central Hospital mortuary to assist in identifying the body.”

Snr Asst Comm urged members of the public to carry identification particulars whenever they travel for easy identification in the event of mishaps.

Meanwhile, Chipo Mbaura appeared before Harare magistrate Mr Tendai Mahwe facing aggravated indecent assault charges involving her 12-year-old landlord’s son.

She was remanded in custody to August 31.

The woman was advised to seek bail at the High Court.

Prosecuting, Mr Sebastian Mutizirwa alleged that between January last year and July this year Mbaura invited the juvenile into her room.

He was made to sit on the mattress before Mbaura started kissing and caressing him until he had an erection.

Mbaura allegedly laid the boy down before having sex with him.

It is alleged Mbaura called the boy to her room whenever she wanted to have sexual intercourse.

The matter came to light on August 15, when Mbaura came home drunk and started shouting obscenities.

It is alleged the juvenile reprimanded Mbaura.

Mbaura’s young sister, who was also drunk, ordered the boy to shut up and revealed the relationship between the minor and her sister.

The boy’s mother heard the altercation and went to report the matter to the police.

Mbaura was arrested.
