Wiz Khalifa’s musical tribute to tragic Fast & Furious actor Paul Walker has become the fastest selling single of the year after hitting number one in the UK charts. “See You Again”, which features the vocals of rising American singer Charlie Puth, climbed 21 places this week, shifting over 193 000 sales. Wiz’s single performance overtakes previous quickest selling single, Ellie Goulding’s “Love Me Like You Do” from the “Fifty Shades Of Grey” soundtrack

Paul was just 40 when he was killed in a car crash in November 2013 while the film was being made.

Following a break, the cast completed the film with Paul’s brothers standing in in some shots as his character Brian O’Connor.

“See You Again” has been a huge hit worldwide and hit number one in the US Billboard charts.

In a recent interview, Wiz told MTV News: “To have the responsibility to do the Paul Walker record was really dope.

“I basically thought about what the movie stands for as far as family and the brotherhood, and of course, using the metaphor of the last ride and the last race because of that last scene.”

The track marks the second time Wiz Khalifa has hit number one in the UK singles chart, having previously appeared on Maroon 5’s 2012 hit “Payphone”.

Last week’s number one Jess Glynne’s “Hold My Hand” has dropped to number three, while Spanish DJ Dr Kucho!’s “Can’t Stop Playing” is the highest new entry at 4.

Meanwhile, Paul Simons’ greatest hits compilation has become the week’s best-selling album, his first number oneNo.1 in 25 years. – Dailymail.
