BINDURA coach John Wilo is optimistic his side will maintain their recent good touch after going through a rough patch in the World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league.
Wilo said in the past three games his charges have played to expectations. They have picked seven out of a possible nine points.

They beat ZRP Morris and drew against DC Academy before they bounced back to winning ways on Saturday when they dismissed Ngezi Platinum 1-0.
“The mid-week game (against DC Academy) was the decider for us to say whether the glory days are back,” said Wilo.

“As for Ngezi, we went past them without a problem so I can say the glory days are back.”

Wilo has been asked by the club’s executive to find new assistant coaches to replace the pair of Zacks Kataya and Collin Chawasarira, who left early this month.

“We discussed about this issue at length with the executive but we have not come up with the final decision yet,” said Wilo.

“As of now I am working with my captain but it’s difficult, I am making most decisions on my own. I don’t know what’s going to happen but I need someone to work with as soon as possible.

“I don’t just rely on football, I have a career and my programme is a bit tight but I will soldier on. And I will find someone before the end of season.”

Meanwhile, Royal Classic director, Ranganai Chatura, says they will fulfil their remaining games.

The Glendale-based side failed to provide police for the home match against Starbill at Tsungubvi.

They had missed their tie against Lake Harvest in Kariba after failing to travel saying most of their players were at school.

The match was awarded to Lake Harvest on a 3-0 scoreline.

And on Saturday the relegation fighters could not fulfil their home game and could lose another set of points.

“The police came late and the match could not be played. It just happened and it’s beyond our control. “We will fight hard despite our position, although we are at the bottom of the log we will fight and fulfil all the remaining games,” said Chatura. Royal Classic are anchoring the table with just nine points.
