It was a painfully sad Sunday for Bobby Brown. The singer spent the morning sharing the news of his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death, age 22, with relatives and friends before the family released the news to the world. “He is holding it together more than you’d expect,” a source told People of the grieving 46-year-old.

“He knew it was coming. Of course he’s very emotional, but at the same time, he knows that Krissy is in a better place now,” the source added using the young woman’s nickname

“He is taking comfort in the fact that she’s with her mother, and that there will be no more sadness or pain. She is at peace.”

Bobbi died at Peachtree Christian Hospice in Duluth, Georgia, six months after she was found unconscious in a bath in her Roswell, Georgia, home by her longtime partner Nick Gordon on January 31.

The circumstances echoed the death of her mother, singer Whitney Houston, who passed away after she accidentally drowned in a bath at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on February 11, 2012.

Heart disease, cocaine and other drugs were a factor in the 48-year-old’s death.

The reasons why Bobbi Kristina was found face down in the bath have yet to be discovered.

She never fully regained consciousness after she was found and was being kept on life support following her near-drowning.

In March she was moved to a long-term care facility in the Atlanta area.

On June 24, she was transferred to the hospice after her condition “continued to deteriorate”, Pat Houston, who is married to Whitney’s brother Gary, said on behalf of the family at the time.

News of Bobbi Kristina’s passing was confirmed via a statement from the Houston family that read: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family.

“She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”

Bobby had travelled back to Atlanta from his home in Los Angeles to be at his daughter’s bedside shortly after the July 9 birth of his new daughter, Bodhi Jameson Rein, with wife Alicia Etheredge. – tmz.
