SENIOR Zanu-PF officials who deviate from the party’s vision and principles will be reprimanded, President Mugabe has said.
Addressing hundreds of Zanu-PF supporters who thronged the Harare International Airport on Saturday to welcome him from the 69th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, President Mugabe also castigated officials who exalt themselves instead of working for the people.

“Vatinenge taona kuti varikutsauka kubva mugwara tinoti apa matsauka, kunyange vari vakuru. Tinovati apa harisiro gwara redu iri, harisiro gwara reparty, matsauka, huyai mugwara reparty tiku teverei,” said President Mugabe.

He said some senior Zanu-PF officials were using the party for self aggrandisement.

“Hatidi vanoda kuzvitarisa ivo pachavo. Aiwa. Tinoda kutarisana nezvichemo zvevanhu. Kana iwe mubati wechigaro uchifunga kuti ndiwe unosungirwa kutariswa nemusangano wese ukosheswe iwe. Pasi newe,” said President Mugabe.

“Ukuru hwako hunobva mukuonekwa kuti mubasa rauri kuita wakabatana nevamwe here. Unezvinangwa zvekusimudzira musangano here. Une zvinangwa zvekusimudzira unhu hweruzhinji rwevanhu here. Vakuru vemusangano varipo kwete kuzvisimudzira ivo asi kuti vave vanotungamirira basa rekusimudzira ruzhinji rwevanhu. Ipapo ndipo panodomwa vamwe vakuru nekuti vanenge vavakuda kuzvitarisa ivo. Zvino tirikuti handizvo. The party comes first, you are the servant of the party. Even the President is a servant number one of the party. Ndiro gwara remusangano. Ndiro gwara redu iroro,” he said.

He urged Zanu-PF Harare province to work hard and reassert its dominance in the capital by reclaiming parliamentary seats lost to the opposition MDC-T in the 2013 harmonised elections. President Mugabe called for unity in Harare province if Zanu-PF was to reclaim the seats.

“Musangano weHarare unosungirwa nekuongorora kukosha kwakaita Harare.

‘‘Pave nekubatana kukuru. Pave nekukurira mamwe mabato kwete kukurirwa nemamwe mabato, zvatakaitwa izvi. Ngatibvei mukukurirwa kwatakaitwa uko,” he said.

President Mugabe expressed optimism that the MDC-T’s dominance in Harare would soon end.

“Ngatirwisei zvinotitadzisa kupa Harare simba rayo rayaive naro. Tione kuti chii chakatisunga mbira dzakondo tichibvise. Zvisinei tinevimbo kunyange zvitototo zvaanaMDC zvitaunhau zvirimo. At the airport to welcome President Mugabe were Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru, Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo, Local Government, Public Works and National Housing Minister Dr Ignatius Chombo, Zanu-PF provincial chairperson Cde Amos Midzi, service chiefs, and other senior Government and Zanu-PF officials.
