Will Smith took to Facebook on Monday to slam rumours he was divorcing his wife of 18 years Jada Pinkett. The 46-year-old wrote that he normally does not respond to “foolishness” but felt compelled to publicly denounce claims of a split after friends and family extended him condolences.

“I promise you all – if I ever decide to divorce my Queen – I SWEAR I’ll tell you myself!” Smith concluded his online message.

On Monday the “I Am Legend” star posted on Facebook: “Under normal circumstances, I don’t usually respond to foolishness. (Because it’s contagious) But, so many people have extended me their ‘deepest condolences’ that I figured – ‘What the hell . . . I can be foolish, too!’

“So, in the interest of redundant, repetitious, over & over-again-ness . . . Jada and I are . . . NOT GETTING A DIVORCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

“I promise you all – if I ever decide to divorce my Queen – I SWEAR I’ll tell you myself!” he concluded. “?#?Dumb? People Should Have to Wear Scarlet D’s”.

On Monday Radar Online published claims from an anonymous source who said the couple have tried to resolve their issues but have now given up and are in the process of dividing up their $240 million fortune. The insider claimed that the power couple’s marriage has been “on life support for a long time” and that “they’re exhausted from trying to maintain the façade of a happy union”.

The source also alleged that the couple are carefully choreographing their split to occur at the end of the summer and have “worked out a confidential settlement to protect their $240 million fortune, and prepare their kids (Jaden (17) and daughter Willow (14) for the fallout”.

While another insider told the website: “They’re already moving on with their lives. All that’s left is the inking of the divorce papers.”

While, in the August issue of American Way magazine Pinkett opened up about her marriage of nearly 20 years. Referring to split rumours she said: “Every year there’s a new one. And I’m like, ‘Here we go. Get ready. Are ya holdin’ on tight?’

“Marriages go through shifts,” she admitted. “And relationships go through shifts because in life, things shift. So people are automatically like, ‘What’s going on? They must be getting a divorce’. Well, no. But when people feel those shifts and there’s a mystery, they have to fill it with something. If you really want to know,” she confided. “I’m thankful for the Hollywood scrutiny, that that’s my problem. There are mothers out there losing their sons, their husbands, their daughters. I’m blessed.

“So scrutinise me. I’ll take that any day over what the majority of my people are dealing with on a daily basis. I dare not complain. Hollywood scrutiny has nothing on what I’ve survived just to be here.” – Dailymail.
