Proverbs 24:3

“By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established, through knowledge, its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures.”

David could clearly see the temple he wanted to build in honour of the Lord. A place of prayer and worship, that by its sheer size would speak to the greatness of the Maker, who brought the children of Israel out of bondage and into the glory of being a full nation that had conquered its way to existence, against the odds.

God had delivered a country to them and through that they had formed a nation. A nation like no other, the apple of God’s eye. David shared his vision of this bastion of prayer, but God through His prophet told David he would not be the one to build the temple he had envisioned. And so it was that his son Solomon had the same vision and ultimately built a magnificent building which was the awe of everyone who saw it.

The Bible clearly articulates the majesty of the building and the strenuous effort that went into building it, including the planning, the negotiation and the engagement of the artisans who built it.

What vision has the Lord put in your heart? Though for some they may not have the means or the ability to bring the vision to fruition, the idea has, however, been planted in your heart. For what the Lord has planted must be harvested. It is recorded that the building of the temple and ultimately Solomon’s palace took many years to complete as he had gathered the materials together from far and wide.

Whatever promises the Lord has declared in your life, they will come true. Don’t be daunted by the passage of time but rather use the time to refine your vision, drawing plans around it and slowly gathering the material, up until a point , like Solomon, where the Lord opens the way for the construction to begin.

May the Lord grant you the birthing of your vision. May He give you the wisdom to build and the understanding to establish your dream into reality. Though it may appear impossible and many a stumbling block lie in your way, never stop dreaming and praying to God for a way to start and complete what you see for His glory. For when it is established, you will give a testimony of how it was done and the part that the Lord of the Heavens played in opening the pathways for its establishment.

When it is all said and done, remember to give glory and thanks to the Maker of all things, our Lord and Father.

Be blessed!
