Isaiah 54 vs 15; “No weapon that is formed against you shall prosper and you shall confute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.”

You can never really know what someone else really thinks, people hide a lot of things behind a smile and you can sometimes mistake this false gesture for genuine affection and goodwill.

It’s very sad, but there are very few people who say what they mean and in turn act in a manner that is consistent with their emotional reasoning. Often times we are left disappointed and dejected by the actions of people we thought we knew.

When we learn about what they really think of us, behind all the smiles, it can sometimes be very painful especially if you have put yourself out there, being real in your interactions only to be met by deception and fraud.

One can never quite understand what drives people to behave like that, for people you thought you knew to reveal a secret nasty side. We have all experienced betrayal or significant let downs that leave us numb and dumbfounded.

Think of how Jesus must have felt when Judas came and kissed Him as a sign that he was the one the Romans were looking for.

You can only imagine the emotions that played out in Jesus’ heart and mind. This is someone He had been with for sometime now; they had travelled, eaten and shared scripture together.

Judas had witnessed many a miracle at the hands of Jesus and therefore knew that He was no ordinary being. However, when confronted with the possibility of making a few dollars, Judas was ready to throw away the relationship and behave as if the last few years had not even occurred.

We all have Judases in our lives, who are quick to forget the past and leave us broken and hurt. Our fallen world is such that the characters of people are so flawed that it becomes difficult to determine honesty in our interactions.

You may be experiencing something similar where someone may have betrayed you and you just don’t know what to do because the pain is so excruciating.

Take heart, the Lord in His time will heal you and give you the possibility of new beginnings.

Be blessed.
