Walking in Spirit: Attention to detail

2 Peter 1 vs 21; “For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried by the Holy Spirit.” We operate in a world where there is so much disorder around us. Things don’t quite work the way they should and often times we are the ones who do not do things properly.

So many of us do not reach our full potential as a result of the choices we make in our day-to-day lives. The choices we make play an integral part in shaping who we are and what we become.

Did you know that our God is a God of order, who is extremely detailed and has clearly outlined a thought process that gives us the ability to see things through?

While studying recently, I read with interest His apt description of the boundaries that were to make up the Promised Land that He gave to the children of Israel. He outlines in detail where each tribe would start and end and which landmark would mark the place where their allocation would end.

In the same breath, He gives clear rules around the principles of life; what not to do, what to do and how to seek to be right with Him when one defers. The detail outlining the order of sacrifices gives specific measurements including the size and type of the animals that were considered acceptable.

Nothing was left to chance; everything is a work of sheer detail. If our Maker is that meticulous and thorough about every little thing, are we not meant to follow suit? We all have people we admire and aspire to be, people who inspire us.

We all have the ability to do amazing things, we sometimes let ourselves down because of the little things that we omit to do. We take so many things for granted around the processes of life.

Today, let us be encouraged to apply ourselves and put maximum effort in everything we do. It won’t always be that the hours or effort we put into something constitute the return we will receive. However, it is a fact that the things we do diligently will yield a result.

God’s intention has always been for you to be the best that you can be. Start doing the things that will make you a champion, begin with the little things that you have been omitting. You will be pleasantly surprised to realise that the minute you follow in the footsteps of greatness you yourself will be unstoppable.

Be blessed.
