VP Mnangagwa honours promise VP Mnangagwa

Bulawayo Bureau
ZANU-PF candidate for the Tsholotsho North by-election, Professor Jonathan Moyo yesterday handed over $5 000 pledged by Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Sunday for the development of Mbiriya Primary School in the constituency.

Handing over the cash to the school headmaster, Forward Ncube in the presence of the school development committee, teachers and schoolchildren, Prof Moyo said the Vice-President responded quickly to the challenges faced by the constituency.

“I have been sent to hand over the $5 000 pledged a few days ago by Vice-President Mnangagwa as part of the developments for Mbiriya primary school. Some politicians are known of giving false promises to their constituencies but the VP responded swiftly and fulfilled his promise,” said Prof Moyo

The school head said the money came at a perfect time and would be used to acquire furniture and textbooks for the school.

“We are very happy to receive the donation and I think the money will go a long way in easing the shortage of furniture and textbooks at our school. We do also appreciate Professor Moyo’s efforts to bring the two VPs to the assistance of the people in the constituency and we hope he will continue with such gestures,” Mr Ncube said.

On Sunday, the two VPs held a historic star rally at Mbiriya Primary School to drum up support for Professor Moyo who is the Zanu-PF Tsholotsho North candidate in today’s by-election.

Vice-President Mphoko pledged to build a classroom block for the primary school and the plan for the block was handed over to Professor Moyo yesterday.

Villagers who witnessed the handover said they were ready to vote for Professor Moyo.

“We can’t wait for tomorrow’s (today) by-election to vote for Ubaba Moyo.

“He is one of the leaders who understand our challenges and can improve our lives,” said Josiah Mlingo Sibanda, Mbiriya Village Head.
