Two of Utakataka Express band members have decided to branch off. Guitarists Dickson Siwela and Manuel Sojeni reportedly bade farewell to Peter Moyo to start a new band called Okinawa Express. Siwela who had worked at Ukatataka for three years said the move had nothing to do with salaries but they wanted to start their own project. “Everything was fine and we were well paid but we decided to start our own group and our first album is due for release in mid October,” said Siwela. The new six-track album titled “Ungandidaro” features tracks that include “Kurambanisa Vakadanana”, “Ungava Munhuyi” and “Chisi Chako”.

“We had the blessing from Peter and he said we were free to come and support him at his shows,” he said.
The music, he said, was different from that of their former group.

Siwela said once they will start live shows once they get bookings.
Utakataka Express manager Sukol Dube confirmed the two members had left the group saying they would continue to assisting them. He said the two left amicably and there was no way they cannot assist them.
