Celebrities seem to live in a different world to the rest of us.

Whether it’s ordering million dollar bottles of champagne or flying friends and family around in private jets, they party in ways we simply cannot imagine. The following list looks at some of the most extreme examples of celebrities getting their groove on.

1. Naomi Campbell
For her 36th birthday party, the fiery model spent over £1 million entertaining guests. Naomi held her bash at the exclusive Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai where she rented all 18 floors for her guests. The celebrations were spread out over the course of three days, and each day featured a different theme.

Guests were invited to an all-white party and a Brazilian samba celebration to dance the night away under the stars. Naomi is well-known for her extravagant taste and regularly drops thousands of pounds on designer fashions, diamond encrusted phone cases and Caribbean cruises aboard private yachts.

2. Liam Payne
One Direction have taken the music industry by storm and banked an impressive £5 million over the last year. Liam Payne decided to celebrate his new found wealth at a party for his close friend and fellow musician Wizkid. The bash was held at the Funky Buddha nightclub in London where the young stars gathered to celebrate Wizkid’s 24th birthday.

Incredibly, Liam decided to toast his friend’s special night by ordering a bottle of champagne worth a staggering £1,2 million. The champagne, known as Taste Of Diamond, is the world’s most expensive champagne and is usually reserved for oil tycoons and Arabian royalty.

3. Harper Beckham
For most children, the first birthday party consists of nothing more than a spot of face painting followed by a round of jelly and ice cream. However, when the parents are David and Victoria Beckham you can expect something a little more extravagant. The Beckhams splashed out £50 000 to fill their mansion with pink balloons, cuddly toys, pony rides and a bouncy castle.

The guests dined on a mountain of cupcakes that were created especially for the bash whilst the kids played with real live rabbits that were also died pink for the occasion. The party took place at the Beckhams mansion in Beverly Hills.

4. Kate Moss
Proving that age is nothing but a number, veteran supermodel Kate Moss celebrated turning 40 with a marathon 100-hour party that took her all over London and out to the country. Kate’s four-day party tested the stamina of her 150 guests. The celebrations kicked off in London at the 34 restaurant in London’s Mayfair.

Two solid days of partying followed before guests were ferried out to Kate’s country home in the Cotswolds for a Glastonbury-themed sleepover. Guests were entertained by tarot readings, fire eating and partied in a rave tent before retiring to their own private yurts that were scattered around the model’s property.

5. Sir Philip Green
Sir Philip Green is a business mogul and father of socialite Chloe Green. He is most famous for being the owner of Topshop and for throwing around some serious cash when the mood takes him. Sir Philip shelled out over £12 million for his 60th birthday party that took place on a beach in Mexico. Guests partied for four days after being flown out on private jets organised by the man himself.

Entertainment consisted of a costume party, volleyball on the beach and sets from Chris Brown and Carlos Santana. Stevie Wonder even serenaded Sir Philip by singing him happy birthday during the celebrations.

6. Elton John
When it comes to living a life of luxury and decadence, no one can do it better than Sir Elton John. The man who once spent £40 million in 20 months including almost £300 000 on flowers has been compared to Liberace on more than one occasion due to his lavish taste.

Sir Elton John spent almost £1 million on his 60th birthday bash which is a relatively modest amount for him. Along with his partner David Furnish, Elton entertained 400 guests at the Cathedral of St John the Divine in New York which is the largest gothic-style cathedral in the world.

7. Simon Cowell
The man responsible for almost every reality show on television celebrated his 50th birthday on two different continents. The party got started in Miami where Simon treated a handful of his closest friends to a week-long holiday under the sun.

The entourage then piled onto a private jet for a party held at a mansion in Hertfordshire. Simon, who recently became a father for the first time, met up with over 400 guests at this exclusive bash. A-list stars in attendance included Kylie Minogue, Sir Elton John, Kevin Spacey and Kate Moss. Simon paid a whopping £1,5 million for the event.

8. Cheryl Cole
Britain’s sweetheart spent a staggering £50 000 on a two-day celebration that marked her 30th birthday in style. The former Girls Aloud member flew her party out to California where she organised 5-star accommodation for everyone. Cheryl planned the get-together along with her boyfriend at the time Tre Holloway.

The singer’s former band-mates were the guests of honour on the night, whereas ex-husband Ashley Cole failed to score an invite. Cheryl has plenty to celebrate recently after divorcing from her love-rat ex-husband and spending an extended holiday in South Africa where she made us all jealous with her Instagram photos.

9. Florence Welch

The lead singer of Florence and the Machine accidentally threw an impromptu party at a hotel that ended up costing her a fortune. During a particular wild night on tour, Florence found her penthouse suite at The Standard Hotel in New York had been crashed by Kanye West. During the alcohol-fuelled evening, Florence claims she lost her phone and also took a bath fully-clothed.

The star didn’t reveal exactly how much the party cost, but gave a good idea by stating “I accidentally set fire to The Bowery Hotel because I’d left a cinnamon tea light burning . . . but that impromptu party cost me a lot more than the cost of setting fire to my hotel room.”

10. Wayne Rooney and Coleen Rooney
Wayne Rooney has been the butt of more than a few jokes over the years, but the premier league footballer had the last laugh after splurging £5 million on his wedding to childhood sweetheart Coleen. Five private jets were on hand to fly guests from the UK to Portofino, Italy to witness the lavish ceremony at Villa Durazzo.
