One of Zambia’s top spinners Costa who is famous for his turbo-charged Nissan is expected to grace this Easter’s Spin Fest slated for April 5 at Arcadia Sports Club starting at 11am.

The Zambian adrenaline junkie will join Harare spinners in the likes of Fat Cat, Goofa, Spin Kid, Brendon, Gordon and D-Boy, during the Easter special edition of the of Spin Fest.

Isaac Mayor aka Fat Cat a veteran in spinning cars said he was delighted that Costa would be part of the jamboree. “He is an amazing spinner and we are happy to bring him this Easter for a showdown. We want everybody to come and have a great family outing,” he said.

Popular stuntman Kunnie is also billed to showcase at the Spin Fest while music and entertainment will be rocking courtesy of top DJs Rax, Raydizz and Rawse who are rocking Club 1+1 at Long Cheng Plaza every Fridays alongside Judgment Yard.

There will be mashups on the decks as Raydizz the Miller number one DJ takes to the turntables.

To celebrate Easter, there will be free Easter eggs at the gates for children who will also be treated to games including water slides and jumping castles.

Added to this, children under 12 will be allowed in for free. But you can’t ignore the fashionistas who are expected to throng Arcadia Sports Club to showcase their style and eye-popping outfits which leave little to imagination.

The coulourful crowd will also be treated to snacks and drinks from the food stalls that will be dotted around the venue away from the madding crowd.

The ladies will be dressed to the nines and for once, Arcadia Sports Club will resemble a fashion scene either in Milan, Paris or New York.

The extravaganza starts at 11.30am and runs until late in the evening with spinners taking turns to please the crowd with their jaw dropping stunts.

This would be the first major Spin Festival so far this year featuring some of the amazing stunts and a parade of different BMWs popularly known down south as gushesh.

In Zimbabwe, spinning of cars started in the 1980s when rear-wheel drive old Alfa Romeos, Datsuns and BMWs were spun in and around the Arcadia area on public streets.

One of the pioneers of this sport locally is one Isaac Mayor, who has been very involved with the motor industry for many years and specifically with the spinning and drag-racing for more than a decade.

In recent years, Spin Fests have taken this energy-packed sport and brought it into a closed and controlled environment where people could enjoy the spinning of cars without any risk of injury to spectators or drivers.

The whole purpose is to go around an enclosed track at high speed performing various stunts with the ultimate goal of ripping/blowing up the rear wheel tyres.

A variety of stunts are performed with the most difficult one being the driver jumping out of his car.
