The equipment will be used to construct and rehabilitate roads in all the 24 wards. Access roads to our main service centres which are Chachacha and Tongogara are in a deplorable state”, he said. Mr Rufasha said they RDC is currently hiring equipment when it intends to service roads. He said Tongogara also intends to improve water supply and sanitation in the district.

“We have set aside $50 000 to sink at least one borehole per ward for starters. According to consultations we made, most our wards have no access to clean water, “he said. Meanwhile, Mr Rufasha said the council has this year recorded success in improving health services as they have constructed five clinics.

“For 2017, our major developments were on health services where we managed to construct five clinics which are Gomwe Clinic, Batanai Clinic, Jobolingo Clinic, Ruchanyu and Totonga Clinic. However, we have also set aside funds to construct staff houses for these rural clinics,” he said.
