UNITED States-based Zimbabwean female basketball star Alexandra Maseko is expected to donate sports equipment and share her experiences with aspiring student athletes in Harare this afternoon.
Maseko (25) arrived in Harare at the weekend and confirmed yesterday that she will be making her presentation and donation at the US Embassy Public Affairs Auditorium today.

The function is scheduled to start at 2pm.
Her presentation will be under the theme “A Day in the Life of a Student Athlete”.

“I want to offer myself as a resource to these (US-bound) young athletes, especially because I had none when I went through this process. What motivated me to do this is essentially two fold, part of my visit is centred around my work with an orphanage called Tariro House of Hope and the Sneaker Drive I had been working on for a while in the United States,” said Maseko.

Maseko is a former player of top Harare-based basketball club Cameo and in the United States she played for Seton Hall University which is based in New Jersey.
She was a four-year letter-winner at Seton Hall, graduating in May 2013 with a degree in political science.
