The ZANU-PF Mashonaland West provincial co-ordinating committee on Sunday rejected Cde Temba Mliswa’s Central Committee application that had controversially been accepted by Hurungwe District last week. Cde Mliswa is one of the nine Zanu-PF provincial chairpersons ousted through a vote of no confidence for fanning factionalism.

Acting Mashonaland West provincial chairperson Cde Ziyambi Ziyambi yesterday confirmed the development.
“The congress went on well except that we had only one problem from Hurungwe District which had allowed Cde Mliswa to contest.

“He attended by virtue of being a Member of Parliament and he had also attempted to get elected into the Central Committee the previous Friday and the position was clearly explained and he accepted,” he said.

Cde Mliswa was replaced by Cde Margaret Rwodzi.
Cde Ziyambi said 31 members were nominated into the Central Committee. These include Dr Ignatius Chombo, Cde Webster Shamu, Cde Patrick Zhuwao, Cde Joseph Chirongoma, Cde Walter Chidhakwa, Cde Virginia Muchenje, Cde Junior Mavi, Cde Rueben Marumahoko, Cde Godfrey Beremauro, Cde Phone Madiro, Cde Sarah Mahoka and Cde Douglas Mombeshora.

Cde Phillip Chiyangwa, Cde Edna Madzongwe, Cde Sylvester Nguni, Cde Mike Gava, Cde Wurayayi Zacharia Ziyambi and Cde Peter Haritatos were also nominated.

Zanu-PF Mashonaland West province endorsed President Mugabe as the party’s candidate in the 2018 elections.
