PROMISING young Zimbabwean female motocross rider Tanya Muzinda is on the verge of signing her first professional contract which could see her riding under United States-based 211 MX School for the next 10 years. The 211 MX School is owned by legendary Italian female motocross rider, three-time world champion Stefy Bau, who, in December last year, trained and guided Tanya during the 2013 Zimbabwe Summer Series at Donnybrook in Harare.

This helped Tanya to finish second overall in the 65B Class behind another talented young Zimbabwean rider Kuda Mhene (Junior) and this was a phenomenal achievement by the Eaglesvale School’s Grade Five pupil considering that she was the only girl racing with boys.

Having been impressed by Tanya’s exploits on the track, Bau, who is based at Tallahassee in Florida, United States, decided to put the young Zimbabwean rider under her wing.

She indicated that she would like to manage her affairs for the next 10 years under the 211 MX School.

The 211 MX School trains and manages motocross athletes from all over the world.

It could be the first big step for her to realise her dream of being the first professional female motocross rider to emerge from Zimbabwe.

The 211 MX School will also be arranging for Tanya to compete in a number of major international motocross events overseas, starting from this year with the ultimate goal being to see her based in the United States and racing from there on a full-time basis. – The Herald.
