Renowned Swedish reggae outfit Vibe Tricks is expected to jet into the country tomorrow ahead of the annual Zimbabwe Festival of Bira  that will start on August 5.
Event organiser, Manlukerz said several performing groups from Sweden will arrive tomorrow around 4pm.
“Vibe Tricks, Roll Staflin and Celso Paco will be in the country at around 4pm and all local groups taking part are ready to deliver their best acts during the festival,” he said.

Some of the local artistes expected to perform at the festival include Manlukerz himself, mbira ensemble Mawungira eNharira and Ambuya VaJestina Madhinga, among others upcoming artistes.

Manlukerz said preparations for the festival are at an advanced stage and will start with a music workshop on August 5 at the Book Cafe.
“We will have a one-day workshop that will focus on Arts Development and International Networking and Capacity Building, with facilitators from Sweden, Nigeria, Uganda, Mozambique and Zimbabwe.

“The workshop will include practical training for artistes on the use of innovative software by renowned software developer Rolf Staflin,” he said.
“The workshop is meant to train artistes on how best they can market themselves in the flooded arts industry and artistes will be taught how to create websites and blogs for themselves,” he said.

The second part of the festival will be held in Stockholm, Sweden in September.
Manlurkerz said the purpose of the festival is to showcase Zimbabwean traditional culture and some selected artistes will take part in different festivals in Sweden this year.

Zimfeb was formed in April 2007 and its objective is to bring people together through celebrating cultures from different parts of the world.
