Local musicians Suluman Chimbetu, Prince Musarurwa and Freeman will tour the United Kingdom and Australia this month. The three leave the country next week for shows in London and Birmingham in UK before they travel to Australia for performances in Melbourne and Sydney.

Chimbetu publicist Joe Local Nyamungoma said they were geared up for the shows. “This is pure Zimbabwean music that will be played there and we are happy to be part of the tour. It will be the first time to tour the countries since the release of our new album ‘Gunship’,” said Nyamungoma.

He said they will present their new acts to fans in the two countries and their combination with Freeman and Musarurwa was set to bring a refreshing mixture of genres on one stage.

“Freeman and Prince Musarurwa are equally good musicians and they will prove what Zimbabwe has in store. They are good in their genres and international promoters have shown confidence in the young musicians,” he said.

Chimbetu is expected to thrill fans with his new songs “Nyuchi”, “Idah Nhoro”, “Musandisiye” and “Foni” among others from his latest offering “Gunship”.

He will also play his old songs and hits done by his late father Simon. On the other hand Musarurwa will give his best with his songs from his previous albums. The talented musician presents his Afro-jazz songs with style and has shown good stage-work.

The musician is fast gaining ground back home with most of his songs making waves on local radio stations and most public places.

Freeman, who recently thrilled fans at the Cup Clash at City Sports Centre, said he was ready to prove the mettle of dance-hall artistes in Zimbabwe.

“A lot has been said about Zimdancehall and as artistes we are there to prove our prowess and also to show that we are not violent,” said Freeman.

“Music industry in Zimbabwe is growing and we are optimistic that this show gives us platform to prove that to the international community.”
