When musicians record duets more often than not fans want to see the artistes perform the song live on stage. But due to pressing schedules it is not always guaranteed that the artistes would perform together at every other show.
No! However, when they share the stage fireworks explode.

So when Suluman Chimbetu and Jah Prayzah meet this Sunday at Club Las Vegas in Southerton for a family fun day, chances are that there will be a lot of thrills.

The two who recorded a duet on “Sean Timba” will make sure fans get value for their money.

Jah Prayzah is likely to continue with his good performance which has made him one of the sought-after musicians in the country.

Jah is arguably the man-of the-moment. He wrote his own piece of history at the 13th edition of the National Arts Merit Awards by winning a record four gongs including for Outstanding Male Musician, Outstanding Album (Tsviriyo), Outstanding Song (Tsviriyo) and the most coveted People’s Choice Award.

He could have easily won the Outstanding Video for “Mwanasikana” which was awarded to the producer Willard Magombedze.

That alone spoke volumes of how talented Jah is.

At least from being a curtain raiser at some of the high profile gigs, Jah has simply taken the lead in so far as live shows are concerned.

He has taken his brand to another level and he is one youngster to watch out for in the near future.

Jah is the sort of musician who does not belong to a particular genre and it is difficult to pigeonhole his music.

However, what is known about him is that he plays nice music. Music that moves revellers.

The latest “Tsviriyo” DVD album has put him in the spotlight again as he single handedly brought all the big names on the same platform.

He brought together Tuku, Pastor Charles Charamba, Sulu, Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima, Winky D and Alick Macheso on “Tsviriyo” a feat which other musicians are still to achieve.

He continues to collaborate with other musicians in the likes of Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave and Ammara Brown.

The Orchestra Dendera Kings led by captain Sulu, every show is different and he is not as predictable as his critics say because he has plenty of songs up his sleeves.

The four-time NAMA award winner has kept dendera music alive and perhaps will continue to be the torch bearer in the genre due to his levelheadedness.

However, his critics say that Sulu’s collaborations with other musicians was digressing from the real dendera, a claim his publicist Joe Nyamungoma vehemently denied.

So far, the Orchestra Dendera Kings has been consistent since Sulu took over the reins and there is no end in endorsement deals coming their way.

Added to this, Sulu is rated among the best performers at the moment.
