Dendera musician Suluman Chimbetu and Afro jazz crooner Alexio Kawara will tomorrow join forces as they share the stage at the Zimbabwe Germany Society.The show is one of Alexio’s projects to engage artistes from different genres to spice up his Thursday shows popularly known by his fans as “KuChina” at ZGS.

Alexio said he is looking forward to a great show saying it is one of its own kind.

“Shades of Black is a unique band which can incorporate different types of genres from urban grooves, Afro Jazz, Sungura and also Dendera,

“So I am very much excited about the show that will see different musicians with different types of music combining forces, we are promising a blast,” he said.

The “Shaina” hit-maker also said that Simon Chimbetu’s “Kumagobo” is his favourite song of all times.

“I am going to join Sulu on the song ‘Kumagobo’ on Thursday, it is my favourite song and I can’t wait to perform the song with Sulu,” said.

On the other hand Sulu promised an electrifying night, saying his combination with Alexio is a unique one.

“Yes this is going to be one show of its kind, I last shared the stage with Alexio I think three years ago at Megga 1 and this is going to be the second time for us to meet on stage,

“You know Dendera rinokwana pese. Dendera fits in all genres and this is a unique combination in the sense that it will cater for a specific audience mainly the mature and those who are young at heart. We have music that can suit every environment and we are going to play that which suits the ZGS environment,” he said.

He encouraged people to come in their numbers as he promised some surprise acts.

Meanwhile, Alexio’s manageress Farirai Chavura said since they embarked on this collaborative project with other artistes on their slot at ZGS, they have been attracting more fans.

“These shows have proved fruitful to us since we are having more fans every week because of different artistes whom we are bringing, so we just want to promise our fans that they must expect more different acts from different musicians,” she said.
