Sunshine Studios will honour producers from the recording stable at their eighth anniversary at Dizvaresekwa 3 Old Hall tomorrow.
The stable, which is credited for contributing to the rise of Zimdancehall, was formed in 2006 as an idea of producers namely Shelton “Sheltung” Masiiwa and Tinashe “Tainash” Mahechani.
Artistes like Freeman, Guspy Warrior, Jay C, Maggikal, Seh Calaz, Princo Spice, Crystal, Lady Squanda, Derulah, Kinnah and Qounfuzed among others are expected to perform at the celebrations. Popular emcee Godfather Templeman and his sidekick Garry B, Smiley and Merciless will also grace the event. The stable walked away with the Best Producer of the Year Award at the inaugural Zimdancehall Awards in March this year.

Sunshine Studios has recorded dancehall artistes including Winky D, Sniper and Freeman and has produced popular riddims like Life journey, Dangerzone riddim, Final Touch, Ninjazone, Unstoppable and Citting Edge among others.

Samuel Saungweme, who is the boss of the record label, said there was need to celebrate the eighth anniversary because of the achievements they have made.
“We won several awards and there is need for us to celebrate the achievements,” said Saungweme.

Boss Werras, as Saungweme is populary known, said they have since refurbished their studio, which is located in Kuwadzana and are looking forward to starting recording artistes from other genres, except for sungura. “We have been working on the studio to meet international standards and we are done on that. We are now capable of recording others artistes who do not sing dancehall save for sungura.”
