ZANU-PF national political commissar Cde Saviour Kasukuwere has urged party members to focus on rebuilding the party and maintain their loyalty to President Mugabe.

Addressing the party’s parliamentarians and zanu-pf members at the zanu-pf provincial headquarters in Gweru yesterday, Cde Kasukuwere said the revolutionary party’s members needed to start focusing on the party’s interests and stop fighting against each other.

“We should focus on rebuilding the country. Let’s stop fighting within the party and we are not delivering because we are engaged in fights,” said Cde Kasukuwere.

He said zanu-pf members should be fighting for the party’s cause and help maintain confidence in their leader, President Mugabe.

Cde Kasukuwere said the party’s MPs should work with ordinary zanu-pf members to rally behind the President to ensure that he wins the next presidential election in 2018.

“He is the man on the ball and we all feed into him. They should bury the hatchet and stop waging wars on each other, that will only drift the party further apart,” said Cde Kasukuwere.

Factional fights in the Midlands province led to the suspension of the then provincial chairperson Cde Kizito Chivamba a few months ago. His case is still pending before the party’s disciplinary committee.

Cde Joram Gumbo was appointed acting provincial chairperson, with instructions to help to mend relations so that the party moves forward in unity.
