Slice International will tonight make a welcome return to stage at Dandaro Inn after a 10-year lull. The group performs alongside Jah Prayzah, Soul Jah Love, Nox Guni and Roki in what is expected to be an explosive night for music lovers.

Apart from being a reunion of Tinos “Slicey T” Viriri, Collin “Sir Sondy” Sondayi, Allan “Flavouh” Mupanduki, Gaylord “Junior D” Gwatidzo and Lenini “Puton” Chingaira, who are collectively known as Slice International, the gig also serves as a birthday celebration for Slicey T, now based in Canada.

According to Slicey T the gig is not to be missed as it features some of the finest performing artistes.

“It is going to be a high energy performance and I would like to urge music lovers to come and witness the big reunion. I wish to thank our fans who stood by us during the long period and also Amos “Amzee” Zvandasara, my producer in Canada who contributed much to our success,” he said.

A mixed bag of music selection from DJs Candyman and Spinalong on the turntables will keep fans on their feet.

Slice International recently announced their return to mainstream music scene with the release of a 10-track album titled “2014 Return of Slice”.

In all fairness there is always room for experimenting in music.

And the good thing is that on the new album the group took the risk of trying out different producers and it worked.

The album sounds fresh and different from their previous works thanks to several producers including the likes of Kutso, Gordon Mutekedza aka Flash Gordon, Russo of Way Too Nice Music and D Max.

There is a little bit of everything from deep house tracks to dancehall club bangers.

While the Zimbabwean music scene has changed so much that artistes no longer make classic music but bubblegum music, Slice International is sure to make its mark on the scene with the new album.

The 90s band emerged from Chitungwiza and were behind the classic hit “Ndiwe Wandinoda” which did the rounds in pubs and clubs around the country.

Roki and Nox are all geared up to give fans a spectacular show second to none. Of late Roki, has not been active on stage and this is moment in time to bring his magic while Nox will serenade his female fans with soulful tunes.

The inclusion of Soul Jah Love will ensure that Zim dancehall fans will be catered for since it’s the genre that is sweeping across the country.

Jah Prayzah who is still basking in ZIMA glory will make sure that things remain in order at the gig when he takes to stage backed by the Third Generation.

Jah is arguably the man-of- the-moment.

He has taken his brand to another level and he is one youngster to watch out for in the near future. Jah is the sort of musician who does not belong to a particular genre and it is difficult to pigeonhole his music.
