TWO officials of the Sri Lanka Cricket board will travel to Pakistan and watch the final ODI against Zimbabwe on Sunday.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has invited officials from the ICC and several cricket boards including Sri Lanka, India and Bangladesh to oversee the security arrangements they have made for the visiting Zimbabwe team.

No BCCI official plans to visit Pakistan, at this stage, but Sidath Wettimuny, the chairman of the SLC, has accepted the invitation.

“Yes, I have accepted the invitation and, if possible, with one more member, we will leave Friday night,” Wettimuny, said from Colombo.

The PCB, after the successful tour by Zimbabwe, are desperate to have resumption of international cricket tours to Pakistan. Wettimuny is likely to assess the situation in Pakistan before deciding to send the Sri Lankan team.

The PCB have announced that their forthcoming bilateral series against India will be played in UAE.

The Zimbabwe team will be led by stand-in skipper, Hamilton Masakadza, in the last two ODIs.

Regular skipper Elton Chigumbura has been suspended for two ODIs for maintaining a slow over-rate during the first ODI against Pakistan in Lahore on May 26.
