people involved indicated that they could not attend due to other commitments.
The meeting was originally scheduled for Monday before it was moved to yesterday.
However, the meeting failed to start after the ZHF chief executive, Amon Madzvamuse, said he could not make it due to work commitments while the Sports Commission directors left for a workshop in Gweru yesterday.
Sports Commission sport development manager, Angela Nyaundi said they will convene on Friday to map the way forward on the problems that are affecting the running of the handball federation.
“The ZHF chief executive said he is working in Masvingo and could not make it for the meeting.
“Our directors are in Gweru for a workshop with the Ministry of Education, Sport, Arts and Culture, so we have moved the meeting to Friday.
“These people are doing voluntary work and their work comes first.
“We have to understand that but we will be able to tell whether it is deliberate in due course.
“There will be no excuses on Friday because we have to put everything in writing,” said Nyaundi.
The Sports Commission are hoping to solve the squabbles within the handball mother body that have seen the federation failing to hold elections.
The problems within the federation also contributed to the failure by local teams to take part in the qualifiers for the All-Africa Games that was held in South Africa in February.
The troubled federation failed to raise the US$32 000 that was needed for the team to take part in the preliminary round.
It has also come to light that there were no provincial structures when part of the executive held elections last year in August except for individuals who were hand-picked after the elections.
Nyaundi revealed that the national federation needs at least for functional provinces to hold elections.
