Talented duo Soul Afrika has released yet another hit single “Take You” from their upcoming album “Ndimi Dzerudo”.

Takura Shonhai and Tatenda Mathe make up the prominent boy band that has taken the nation by storm with hits such as “Zvinhu”, “Pauri” and “Newe” featuring rapper Tehn Diamond.

In an interview with The Herald Entertainment, lead vocalist Tatenda Mathe said “Take You” is a reply to an audio sent by one of his toddler fans who was singing “Pauri”.

“A prominent mother sent me an audio of her toddler daughter singing ‘Pauri’ and I replied her instantly inspired by her innocent voice, I took my guitar and started strumming some chords and Takura came up with the chorus and verse. Then we figured this could be a song,” he said.

“Take You” is a love song that speaks about a man who has had his prayers answered as his present lover Hannah is heaven sent who has made him want to take her across Africa as an expression of his love.

Soul Afrika has been criticised in some quarters as being a duplicate of the famous Afrika Revenge but their music has a unique soulful African fusion that makes them a cut above the rest.

The duo has made ground-breaking strides on radio last year their song “Zvinhu” was voted as the best song on Power FM and as well as having their two singles on Power FM’s Hitsville.

“Ndimi Dzerudo”, their upcoming debut album, which will comprise all the hit singles, is set for release at the end of August this year. They have collaborated with Tererai Mugwadi and Tehn Diamond and are looking forward to collaborating with other famous artists such as Jah Prayzah and Trevor Dongo. In the long run, they also plan to join hands with some of the continent’s music heavyweights.
