The dispute over the late musician Daiton Somanje’s estate is expected to be settled at the Master of the High Court today. Daiton’s relatives said they wanted the late musician’s second wife, Esther Musango, to share the royalties with his children.

Josphat yesterday confirmed that the case would be brought before the courts today but refused to shed more light on just what is going on.

“Yes, the case will be at Master of High Court today. That is all I can say,” he said.

Meanwhile, one of the family members, Kenneth, accused Musango of refusing to give them a copy of the death certificate.

Kenneth said this in a radio interview where he maintained they were forced to engage a lawyer so as to get a copy of the document after a heated argument with Musango.

“There are other four children who came to us after his death saying they are his children and we need to change their surnames.

“In that process we needed a death certificate but she refused to give us a copy,” he said. Musango denied the allegations saying she told them that she was not feeling well.

“I was not feeling well and I could not get into town to process the papers to get the death certificate. I was surprised to hear it on radio,” said Musango.

She also said that she had not been served with summons to appear before the Master of the High Court today.

The Herald Entertainment was un- able to establish the age and sex of the four offspring and why they have waited for the singer’s death to claim their paternity. Investigations by this reporter established that Marondera- based first wife Anna Kezias has since vacated Daiton’s house in the Mash East provincial capital and gone back to her parents’ home in Glen Norah.

A source said that this was after Musango claimed ownership of the house and ordered the tenants at the house pay their rentals to her via EcoCash.

The source said Daiton’s relatives have since reversed that order and his two children, Faheem and Haliri, are now in charge.

“Josphat and other relatives told the lodgers to pay the rentals to the two, not Musango,” said a source.
