THE Zimbabwe National Soccer Supporters Association have hailed National Football Association of Zimbabwe president Philip Chiyangwa and his board for rebranding from Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA).

The association faced liquidation which forced them to rebrand last weekend to NFAZ and ZNSSA life president Eddie “Mboma” Nyatanga said they are fully behind the move.

Nyatanga said the move taken by Chiyangwa’s board is a good one and as stakeholders of the game are well behind it.

“We as ZNSSA we are happy with the rebranding of ZIFA to NFAZ as it gives us a chance to start on a fresh ground.

“Football had suffered a lot as we were hearing about attachment of properties every now and then but with the new association coming on board it will be a thing of the past.

“The move should have been done a long time ago and all those who are owed by the former association can get their dues from the ZIFA assets,” said Nyatanga.

Nyatanga also believes that Chiyangwa and his board should have courage to get rid of some staffers who worked with the previous executive, which was led by Cuthbert Dube, and failed in their duties.

“There is also need to get rid of some backroom staff who worked with the former executive as they cannot be trusted. I know some people in the system were part of the former executive which failed the nation so there will not be anything new they will bring.”
