Canadian-based DJ and singer Tinos “Slicey T” Viriri has promised fans a whale of a time when he re-unites with his group Slice International for a gig slated for this Friday at Dandaro Inn. This is the first time that the boy band performs together after nine years and the upcoming show is likely to bring a lot of fond memories.

“It is always good to rekindle those days when we used to tour around Zimbabwe as one group.
“There is no doubt energy is high within the group and everyone is itching to hit the stage and perform like we used to do back then,” Slicey T said.
Slice International has a new album titled “2014 Return of Slice”.

The 10-track album appeals to a cross-over audience as it features a different approach to their sound.
Added to this, the album features the talents of Roki, Varaidzo Nyakunika on “Ndiwe Wandinoda” remix as well as Zim dancehall chanter Tings.

Other songs on the playlist include “Party Time” featuring Tings, “Chimbidza”, “Handikanganwe”. “God”, “Chinonzi Rudo” and “Haundide” featuring Roki.
Slice International also went the extra mile to work with different producers among them Russo of “This is Russo” fame and Gordon “Flash” Mutekedza.

A number of talented guest artistes are set to feature at the reunion of Slice International which also coincides with Slicey T’s birthday party.
The show will see the likes of Soul Jah Love and the Conquering Family, Jah Prayzah, Roki and Nox Guni taking part.

Also on the same bill are DJs Candyman and Spinalong.
The same line-up will tour alongside Slice International in Bulawayo and Mutare .

Slice International emerged from the streets of Chitungwiza to become one of the most sought-after groups in urban music.
Slicey T, who is now a DJ with a top Canadian radio station called Africa Radio Show, has promoted local artistes among them Nox, Winky D and Oliver Mtukudzi in Canada.

“The theme of the tour is ‘Fly Zim Flag High’ and part of the proceeds will be donated to one of the orphanages in Zimbabwe as part of the African Canadian Arts Society, a charity foundation of which I am a member.

“Other members are Munyaradzi Madzinga, the co-ordinator; and Tecla Imbayarwo, who is the projects director,” Slicey T said.

The show is aimed at giving African artistes the much needed exposure as well as updates to Zimbabweans and African community living in Canada on the trends across the African continent ranging from entertainment, sports, social and politics.
