Gospel diva Joyce Simeti has been appointed an ambassador of Opentribe Foundation Trust, an organisation that runs a primary and secondary school in Epworth.
The “Kudza Baba naMai” hitmaker said she was humbled by the gesture. I was never expecting such a thing but God has a purpose for my appointment. I just met them last year and l used to take some of their children to my functions. I am also a friend of Harare Children’s Home and I am allowed to take some of the children home,” she said.

Apart from music, Simeti said she has a passion for orphans issues and would like to build an orphanage in the near future. “I grew up seeing orphans and l strongly desire to build an orphanage.  That is a stepping stone towards fulfilment of my vision,” she said.

Founder and president of OTF Fanuel Chimbindi said they chose Simeti because of her good social standing and works. “We saw that Simeti is a woman who has a heart to assist the less privileged and we believe she will help us transform this organisation and the lives of our orphans,” he said.

Chimbindi also said they were appealing to the corporate sector to assist with money to upgrade the place as the students learn under shades.

OTF is an organisation that provides education to orphans beginning from Grade Zero to Form Four. The organisation also look after the elderly, HIV and AIDS patients as well as the disabled.
