Award-winning theatre production “She and He” goes on a national tour that will see the play being staged in different parts of the country from September 24 to 30.The play was written by Stephanie Guirand and directed by Joy Wrolson, with Tafadzwa Muzondo as co-writer and co-director.

The play will be performed at Hwange Little Theatre, Masvingo (Charles Austin Theatre on September 24), Bulawayo (Bulawayo Theatre, September 25), Gweru (Midlands State University, September 26) and Victoria Falls (Shoestring Lodge, September 28).

“She and He”, which won three awards (Best Production, Best Director and Best Producer) at the April International Theatre Festival 2014, is gaining popularity with each performance.

“Besides having a keen interest in establishing a theatre market and keep in touch with those that have followed my work in the targeted areas, this tour is special to me in the sense that it is reconnecting me with Hwange, a place where I developed my theatre career as a secondary school pupil at Gebhuza High School in 1995 when my late father was working for Hwange Thermal Power Station,” said Muzondo. He said he vividly remembers being inspired by local plays from groups such as Bayethe Theatre Productions, Amakhosi Theatre as well as Township Theatre productions.

The play is part of the Intwasa Arts Festival koBulawayo 2014 programme and Shangano Arts Festival.
