SHABANIE Mine fans have called on the executive to bring back Luke Masomere as they feel the current technical team isn’t good enough to help the side avoid relegation. Some infuriated fans called on the technical manager Taku Shariwa’s head, with some registering their dismay by throwing stones at cars and people after Sunday’s 0-1 loss to ZPC Kariba.

“We are really hurt by our team’s performance, we really love our team but we feel this technical team won’t take us anywhere,’’ said one female fan.

“We love this team to the extent that some of us have bankrolled it, so it’s really sad.

“Shariwa should go, along with the people he came with, we cannot continue to suffer like this, being humiliated with all these losses.’’

Even children too said there was need for change in the coaching set-up.

One man who was hit by one of the stones blamed it all on Shariwa.

“Right now I have been injured just because of Shariwa. He should just take heed of the fans’ calls for him to quit so that we may have peace,” said the man.

“What Shariwa is doing is really hurting us, he had promised to win this one for us but he has failed to give us the desired results.

“Masomere should just come back to coach this team.’’

One Zvishavane resident who said he had stayed in the mining town for the past 47 years said the team was deeply loved by the people here who feel their patronage was not being reciprocated by good results.

“Most people here have a deep connection to this team, so you will see they have a lot to say when the team is losing like this.

“However, violence is not the answer, there is need to find a lasting solution so that glory days can be restored kumaBvaru,” he said.

Coach Takesure Chiragwi said he had expected his players to do well in front of their home crowd.

He said the players were letting down the community and said their main problem was their failure to convert the chances they were creating.
