Glamis Arena was a hive of activity last Friday as several musicians converged for Tuku and Friends show. With the carnival mood gripped the city last week, thousands of people came to witness the event that was also affiliated to Harare International Carnival. The event began around 9pm and several musicians took turns to perform at the event.

Several upcoming musicians performed in the early stages of the show before paving way for Peter Moyo and his band. The musician managed to bring party mood to the revellers with songs such as “Samasimba” “Muchina Muhombe” and “Mushonga Mukuru”. Some of his dancers jumped into the crowd and merrymakers joined them on the dance floor, making the performance interactive.

The musician said they were in a party mood because they were celebrating the life of the late Tongai Moyo. “We are getting closer to the date of his death anniversary and the guys are encouraged. It is an honour to perform on such event like this one” he said. DJ Cables thrilled fans with different songs while Templeman and Garry B did their best.

At exactly 12 midnight Oliver Mtukudzi took the stage and for two hours the musician belted out most of his hit songs. He was joined on stage by Jah Prayzah and Alick Macheso much to the delight of the fans. After his performance Jah Prayzah took the stage and the musician performed his party songs.

Songs such “Eriza” “Kumbumura Mhute” and “Tiise Maoko” among others thrilled fans. He was also joined on stage by Seh Calaz who then performed after the lanky musician. The musician managed to give fans good acts with songs such as “Mumota Mukubvira”, “Sauro” and “Zvidzidzo”.

Macheso was the last musician to perform and the musician did his best. Other musicians like Suluman Chimbetu, Killer T and Soul Jah Love did not turn up for the show as advertised. They were said to be booked somewhere out of town.
