Goromonzi West legislator Cde Beatrice Nyamupinga has implored parents to attend school meetings for them to take part in all developmental activities at schools in their communities for the benefit of their children. She made the remarks last week at Cheza Primary School in Domboshava during a donation of shoes and exercise books worth over US$6 000 to 75 orphans and vulnerable children by a Charity organisation known as Creating Better Futures.

“We want you parents to play a leading role in coming up with initiatives that assist headmasters to develop schools in your communities for the benefit of your children and upcoming generations,” she said. Cde Nyamupinga said school meetings were a very important platform for parents and school heads to discuss important issues that assist in bringing development in schools.

“Let’s take part in school meetings so that we can discuss with headmasters on how best we can develop our schools,” she said. She appealed to parents to desist from overworking their children during the school term, saying this deprived them of time to do their homework.

“Give your children enough time to study and time to rest because overworking them will bring more harm than good to them,” Cde Nyamupinga said.

CBF Founder Mrs Beverly Matondo urged the students to take education seriously .

“We will keep on supporting the vulnerable children and orphans in this community to make sure that they get quality education like any other child in Zimbabwe,” she said.
